What AlTiN (TiAlN) coating is used for
AlTiN is also written TiAlN. Both names mean aluminum titanium nitride. It is a thin, hard PVD coating applied in a vacuum, and it is one of the five coatings we run every day at our Fridley, Minnesota shop.

Frequently asked questions
Is AlTiN the same as TiAlN?
Yes. AlTiN and TiAlN are both names for aluminum titanium nitride. We list the coating as AlTiN / TiAlN, and it is the same service either way.
What does AlTiN coating cost?
Pricing depends on the tool type, size and how many pieces you send. Send us your tool details and we will quote your job.
Is there a minimum order?
We do not publish a minimum. Tell us your part count in the form and we will confirm it with your quote.
Can I ship tools from outside Minnesota?
Yes. We coat shipped-in work for manufacturers nationwide, with customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Upper Midwest, California, New York, Florida, Canada and Mexico.
Do you sharpen or regrind tools too?
No. We only coat. Many tool resharpening services sharpen the tools and then send them to us for coating.
How do I know AlTiN is the right coating?
