Five offices, with locations in Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland and across Connecticut.
How we plan retirement income
Retirement changes the job of your money. Instead of adding to savings, you start drawing from it. We build a plan that coordinates your investments, your withdrawals and your tax picture so each piece supports the others.
Our asset management is rooted in modern portfolio theory and the work of Harry Markowitz, using deliberate global diversification. Plans are stress-tested against historical bear markets, recessions and inflationary periods, and adjusted as your life changes.
- Structured withdrawal buckets for near-term cash flow and longer-horizon growth
- Sequencing across taxable, tax-deferred and tax-free accounts
- Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting and Qualified Charitable Distributions
- Investment Policy Statement for every client portfolio, monitored for style drift
- Attention to sequence-of-returns risk and longevity risk
- Estate review: account titling, beneficiary designations, wills and trusts
- Legacy planning, including staged inheritance structures for heirs
- Specialized planning for families with special needs and for people going through divorce

Frequently asked questions
What does a retirement planning financial advisor do here?
At Sentinel, advisors build a retirement income plan: structured withdrawals, portfolio allocation with an Investment Policy Statement, tax sequencing, risk planning and estate review, coordinated as one plan.
Where do you work with clients?
We have offices in Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland and in Fairfield, Middletown and West Haven, Connecticut. We also serve clients in Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on the scope of planning and assets involved, so we review that with you before you commit to anything. Our Retirement Income Course is complimentary with no cost to attend.
Do you handle taxes and legal documents too?
We handle tax management planning such as Roth conversions and withdrawal sequencing, but we do not prepare tax returns. We focus on the parts of estate planning that do not require a lawyer and work alongside estate attorneys for wills and trusts.
Can I learn more before booking a call?
Yes. We run a complimentary, no-obligation Retirement Income Course at universities and community centers in Maryland and Connecticut. Sessions are educational only and typically hold 12 spaces.
I have a family member with special needs. Can you help?
Yes. We have 25 years of experience working with families with special needs and support 20+ families long term, coordinating with attorneys and care planners when required.
