Why Connecticut families call Sentinel
A portfolio built around you
We use model portfolios shaped by your investment goals, income needs, tax situation and tolerance for risk.
Globally diversified by design
Our asset management is rooted in modern portfolio theory and the work of Harry Markowitz, using deliberate diversification to address unsystematic risk.
Written plan, not guesswork
Each portfolio follows an Investment Policy Statement, is stress-tested under different market conditions and is watched for style drift.
Tax and estate work in one place
Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting, withdrawal sequencing, account titling and beneficiary reviews are coordinated as one plan.
Advisors near you in CT
Meet at our Fairfield, Middletown or West Haven offices, part of 5 offices with 100+ years of combined advisory experience.
Planning for harder chapters
We also support families who need lifelong care planning and people working through the financial side of divorce.

Frequently asked questions
Are you investment advisors based in Connecticut?
Yes. Sentinel Asset Management is a financial advisory firm with Connecticut offices in Fairfield, Middletown and West Haven, and our mailing office is in Wallingford. Our team includes a Certified Financial Fiduciary® Investment Advisor Representative.
What does it cost to work with you?
Fees depend on the services you use and the accounts we manage, so we do not list one number here. The first call is where we explain the services, how we work and what is included. Our Retirement Income Course is complimentary at $0 to attend.
Is there a minimum amount I need to invest?
We do not publish a minimum. Tell us about your accounts and goals on the call and we will be straight with you about whether our services fit your situation.
Which states can you serve?
We serve clients in Connecticut, Maryland, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. We do not work outside the United States.
Do you prepare tax returns or draft wills and trusts?
No. We do not prepare tax returns and we do not draft legal documents. We handle the roughly 98% of estate planning that does not require a lawyer, such as accounts, insurance policies, titling and beneficiaries, and we work alongside your estate attorney and CPA.
Do you hold free retirement classes in Connecticut?
Yes. Our complimentary Retirement Income Course runs at venues such as Fairfield University, Wesleyan University, Goodwin University, Tunxis Community College, the University of New Haven and Shelton Community Center. Sessions typically hold 12 spaces. The course is educational only and attending does not create an advisory or fiduciary relationship.
