Compression force sensors and hydraulic press load cells
Compression load cells sit in the load path of a press, actuator or test frame and turn applied force into a clean strain gage signal. We build canister, hollow, low-profile shear web and in-line actuator styles so you can match the sensor to your fixture instead of reworking the fixture.
Every model works with AC carrier or DC strain gage signal conditioning electronics, and mating connectors ship with the sensor. Cable assemblies, tension plates and spherical load buttons are available as options.
- F200 canister compression load cell: 5K, 10K, 20K and 50K lb, under 2.5 in diameter, 3.5 in tall
- F502 hollow compression load cell: 5K to 100K lb, 2 in tall, 4 in diameter, 0.15% nonlinearity and hysteresis
- F654 hydraulic actuator load cell: 5K to 25K lb with 1-14 UNF threads for in-line mounting
- F341 to F347 low profile shear web: 5K to 500K lb at 0.07% accuracy

How much does a compression force sensor cost?
Pricing is quote-based. Cost depends on capacity, style, accuracy, connectors and any custom features, so tell us your application and we will quote it.
Which load cell fits a hydraulic press or actuator?
The F654 mounts in line with hydraulic actuators using 1-14 UNF threads in 5K to 25K lb. For platen or ram loading, the F200 canister and F502 hollow compression cells cover 5K to 100K lb.
Can you build a capacity or size that is not listed?
Yes. We design, engineer and manufacture custom sensors in house, including non-standard capacities and configurations.
Do the sensors come calibrated?
We provide in-house calibration and calibration certificates. Calibration is free with SensorData electronics; with customer-supplied electronics it is available for a fee.
What electronics do I need?
Our force sensors work with AC carrier or DC strain gage signal conditioning electronics. We also offer the i200 AC carrier conditioner and the i100 bridge simulator for checkout.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes. We sell across the United States and internationally, including Europe and other global markets.
