Plastic banding straps come in two materials. Polypropylene (PP) is the cost-effective choice for light and medium bundling, package coding and everyday shipping. Polyester (PET) holds more tension over time, recovers better from impact and is the pick for heavy pallets, long hauls and rough handling.
Each material comes in hand grade for manual tensioners and sealers, or machine grade for semi-automatic and automatic strapping machines. Tell us the load and how you apply it, and we will spec the width, thickness and break strength.
- Econoband hand grade PP: 6mm to 12mm wide, 250 to 1,000 lb break strength
- POLYPROSTRAP machine grade PP: made in the USA in Danville, Illinois for Strapack machines
- Flexband hand grade PET: 9mm to 16mm (3/8" to 5/8"), 300 to 1,500 lb break strength
- Flexband machine grade PET: 9mm to 19mm, 600 to 2,500 lb break strength
- Thickness from 0.015" to 0.050" depending on grade

Machine grade strap is made for semi-automatic and automatic strapping machines. POLYPROSTRAP is built to Strapack tolerances for the iQ-400, SQ-800, D-53 and RQ-8CR families, so coils feed without tweaking.
Do you sell to small shops or only large plants?
We sell to businesses of all sizes, from single hand-strapping stations to multi-shift plants. We do not sell single-roll consumer packaging for households.
