What we design in commercial interiors
Our workplace practice covers the full office environment, from executive suites and corporate lobbies to call centers and employee amenities. We work on interior fit-outs in leased space, major renovations of buildings you already own, and ground-up construction.
Design starts with listening. We use site visits, vision walks, test fits, block plans and design charrettes so you can see options before decisions get expensive. Projects are delivered across North America, including Canada.

Do you take on projects in Chicago?
Yes. Our office is at 659 Van Meter Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, and we design workplace projects across North America, including the United States and Canada.
What types of commercial interiors do you design?
Corporate and workplace interiors: offices, lobbies, collaborative and activity-based space, call centers and employee amenities. We do not design retail stores, restaurants, hospitality or healthcare spaces.
What will my project cost?
Fees depend on scope, square footage, building conditions and which disciplines you need. We do not publish pricing. Tell us about the project and we will prepare a proposal, and our in-house cost estimating team can help with construction budgets.
Do you also handle the engineering?
Yes. Hixson has 20 in-house design and technical disciplines, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, structural and civil engineering.
Do you build the space too?
No. Hixson provides design and construction administration. We do not perform general contracting or construction labor, but we stay involved during construction to protect the design intent.
We are not sure how much space we need. Can you help?
Yes. Our workplace strategy services include real estate optimization, visioning and programming. We study how your space is used today and confirm the square footage your future work patterns require.
