What robotic automation does for a metal parts plant
People out of hazard zones
Robots take over the hot, dirty and repetitive handling steps so your crew works in safer roles.
More uptime on your machines
Robotic machine tending raises spindle utilization and extends unattended running between operator checks.
Steady quality, less rework
Machine vision checks part presence, position and quality in real time, so scrap and rework drop.
Handles heavy, awkward parts
Vision-guided FANUC robots pick from bins, load fixtures, rack and de-rack, and palletize finished parts.
One source for the whole job
Layout, design, build, programming, validation, install, commissioning, training and ongoing support.
Engineers when you need them
Our staffing division places controls engineers, robot programmers and technicians on contract or direct hire.
Foundry robotics: what we integrate
Casting and metal part production is tough on people and equipment. GLOBAL builds FANUC robotic cells around your part geometry, cycle times and floor space, so loading, moving, joining and finishing happen the same way every cycle.
We start with a process study and offline simulation, then build, install, program and commission the cell and train your team. If you already have robots, we can retrofit and upgrade the line instead of replacing it.
- Machine tending: CNC loading, press tending, multi-machine cells and collaborative tending
- Material handling: pick-and-place, inter-station transfer, racking and de-racking, palletizing
- Camera-guided random bin picking and structured bin placing for parts that are not fixtured
- Robotic welding cells: fixture design, servo positioning, single, multi-robot and coordinated welding
- Coating and finishing: powder coating, industrial finishing, film build and overspray control
- Dispensing and sealing with real-time vision inspection and flow monitoring
- Machine vision for part ID, orientation checks, inspection and moving-part tracking
- End-of-arm tooling, custom fixtures, safety guarding, controls and PLC integration
- AI-assisted offline simulation that cuts robot programming time from weeks to days
- Feasibility studies with cycle time analysis and ROI before you commit capital
What happens after you submit
We talk through your process
An engineer reviews your parts, volumes, cycle times and plant constraints with you.
We scope a concept
You get a conceptual layout with robot selection, tooling and an ROI and cycle time view.
We quote the build
Approve the scope and we handle design, build, install, programming, commissioning and training.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with foundry and casting operations?
We build robotic systems for automotive, EV, heavy equipment, aerospace, defense, appliance and general industrial manufacturers. If your process involves loading machines, moving heavy or awkward metal parts, welding, coating, dispensing or inspection, we can scope it. A feasibility study confirms the fit before you spend capital.
How much does a robotic cell cost?
There is no set price. Cost depends on robot count, end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, guarding, controls and your cycle time targets. Our feasibility study covers project scope, capital requirements, implementation timeline and expected return so you can compare options.
Which robots do you use?
We primarily integrate FANUC robots. GLOBAL is a Level 5 FANUC Authorized System Integrator and was the largest purchaser of FANUC robots among U.S. integrators in 2025.
Can you upgrade our existing line instead of building new?
Yes. We handle retrofits and line upgrades for new product launches, model year changeovers and capacity expansions, including retrofitting robots and converting manual operations to automated ones while limiting downtime.
How fast does automation pay back?
It depends on your labor, volume and scrap. As a reference point, robotic machine tending cells typically pay for themselves in 12 to 18 months. We run the cycle time and ROI analysis for your specific parts during the feasibility study.
Where do you install and support systems?
Our headquarters is in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and North America is our primary market. We have offices in 4 countries and have completed project work in 22 countries.
We do not have staff to run a new cell. Can you help?
Yes. Our staffing division places controls engineers, PLC and robot programmers, robotics technicians, designers, commissioning engineers and project managers on contract, contract-to-hire or direct-hire terms.
