What CNC machining automation does for your plant
More spindle hours
A robot loads and unloads on a steady cycle, so machines keep cutting between shifts and through breaks.
Longer unattended runs
Cells are built for your part geometry and cycle time, which extends lights-out and unattended operation.
Payback you can plan for
Machine tending cells typically pay for themselves in 12 to 18 months. We model cycle time and ROI before you commit.
Operators on better work
People stop opening doors and loading chucks, and move to inspection, setup and higher-value tasks.
FANUC expertise
GLOBAL is a Level 5 FANUC Authorized System Integrator and was the largest purchaser of FANUC robots among U.S. integrators in 2025.
Engineers to run it
Our staffing division places controls engineers, robot programmers and technicians on contract, contract-to-hire or direct hire.
What a CNC machine tending cell includes
GLOBAL builds custom robotic machine tending systems that automate the repetitive cycle of opening doors, loading parts, closing doors and starting the machine. Each cell is engineered around your equipment, part geometry and cycle time, including gripper design, fixture integration and part orientation.
We handle the full project: layout, simulation, controls, build, installation, programming, commissioning, operator training and ongoing support. Vision can be added so the robot finds parts regardless of orientation, checks position and inspects quality.
- CNC machine loading and unloading
- One robot tending single or multiple machines
- Press tending, injection molding and secondary operations
- Collaborative tending for lower-volume or mixed work
- Custom end-of-arm tooling, grippers and fixtures
- Camera-guided random bin picking and structured bin placing
- Part recognition, orientation checks and in-cell inspection
- Safety guarding, PLC integration and controls engineering
- Retrofits of existing cells and production line upgrades
What happens after you send the form
We learn your process
Tell us the machines, parts, volumes and floor space. An engineer reviews the details with you.
We study feasibility
We look at cycle time, part presentation and existing equipment, then outline a practical cell concept and ROI.
You get a scoped proposal
We share the layout, equipment list and project scope so you can compare it against your current process.
Frequently asked questions
How much does CNC machining automation cost?
Cost depends on the machines, part size, tooling, vision and safety scope. We do not quote blind. A feasibility study covers cycle time, scope and ROI so you see the numbers before committing. Machine tending cells typically pay for themselves in 12 to 18 months.
Can one robot tend more than one machine?
Yes. We build multi-machine cells where a single robot serves several machines, along with single-machine cells and collaborative tending setups. The right layout depends on your cycle times and floor space.
Will this work with the CNC machines we already have?
Usually. We engineer cells around existing equipment and also handle retrofits, new equipment integration and conversion of manual operations to automated ones, with the goal of limiting downtime.
What if parts arrive loose or unoriented?
We integrate machine vision and AI-guided robotics for random bin picking, part identification and orientation checks, so you can automate processes that are too variable for fixed fixturing.
Which robots do you use?
We primarily integrate FANUC robots. GLOBAL is a Level 5 FANUC Authorized System Integrator and has sold 630+ robots worldwide.
Do you install, program and train our team?
Yes. GLOBAL delivers turnkey projects: engineering and design, simulation, controls, build, installation, programming, commissioning, documentation, operator training and ongoing support.
Where do you work?
We are headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with offices in 4 countries and project work in 22 countries. North America, including the US manufacturing belt, Ontario and Mexico, is our primary market.
Ready to automate your CNC loading?
Send us your machines, parts and volumes. An automation engineer at GLOBAL will review the application and come back with a practical path forward.
