Why OEMs Bring Precision Parts to EVOK
Tolerances agreed up front
We work with you to negotiate tolerances and explain what molded parts can really hold, before the tool is cut.
Thin wall problems solved early
Wall thickness, gate sizing, vent size and location are modified to fill thin sections and limit sink and flash.
Analysis before steel
Mold flow and tolerance stack analysis show how the part fills and stacks up, so surprises do not show up at T1.
Open cost breakdown
We are upfront about cost per part and itemize the cost structure, so you can help drive the design to a lower price.
Proven quality process
Molding trial reports, first article inspection and Cp/Cpk data confirm the process before it is locked down.
One partner end to end
Part design, prototypes, mold design, tooling and high volume production all run through one team.
What Precision and Thin Wall Molding Includes
Precision parts fail for small reasons: a gate in the wrong spot, a wall that is too thin to fill, a tolerance no mold can hold. EVOK reviews your 3D file for moldability first, marks up what should change and explains why each change helps the part.
Thin wall work needs extra care with fill speed, knit lines, zone temperatures and cycle time. We watch those parameters during molding trials and evaluate T1 samples before texturing, when roughly 90% of how the part will mold is already visible.
- Part design and engineering in SOLIDWORKS at $110 per hour
- Rapid prototypes for cosmetic or functional checks, $100-$500 per prototype
- Mold flow analysis and tolerance stack analysis
- Mold design: gate sizing, vent size and location, sink and flash control
- Single cavity prototype tooling, then production tooling
- Molding trial report with T1 sample evaluation
- First article: 30 inspection points per cavity on critical dimensions, 5 on non-critical
- Material and texture selection guidance
- High volume production with cost-reduced part pricing

What Happens After You Submit
We review your part
Send your 3D file or drawing. We look at wall thickness, geometry, tolerances and volume to see if it is a good fit.
You get a plan and costs
We lay out design changes, material options, tooling approach and an itemized per-part cost so you can decide with facts.
We build and qualify
Prototype, tool, run trials, then first article inspection with Cp/Cpk data before production is locked down.
Frequently asked questions
How is precision molding priced?
Part design and engineering is $110 per hour and prototypes run $100 to $500 each depending on size and process. Tooling and per-part price depend on your geometry, material, tolerances and volume, so we quote after reviewing your file.
Can you hold the tolerances on my drawing?
We review your critical dimensions with you and negotiate tolerances that molded parts can actually hold. Tolerance stack and mold flow analysis are done before tooling, and first article data shows exactly what the tool delivers.
Do you handle thin wall parts?
Yes. Thin wall parts are handled through design changes to wall thickness, gate sizing and vent location, plus close monitoring of fill speed, knit lines, zone temperatures and cycle time during molding trials.
Do I need a finished 3D model to start?
No. We can start from your own 3D file or model the part from scratch. If you have a file, we review it, redline changes for moldability and finalize it with a print and part number.
What if I only need low volumes right now?
We build single cavity prototype tooling for testing and validation, then move to production tooling when you are ready. Tell us your expected volumes and we will suggest the right path.
Where do you work?
EVOK serves customers across the United States, with the engineering team based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area.
