Why buyers ask EVOK for mold pricing
Upfront about costs
We itemize and prioritize the cost structure of your part, so nothing is hidden. You can then help shape a cheaper design.
Priced down to the penny
Our mold and part supply service details per-part pricing so you see exactly what each part costs to run.
Lower cost tooling
We build the tooling solution that fits your volume while minimizing cycle time, without giving up performance or looks.
Design changes that cut price
Wall thickness, gating, venting and material choices all move your cost. We show you which changes pay off.
25 years of molding experience
Founder Paul Dathe has over 25 years in injection molding engineering, four US utility patents and a Six Sigma black belt.
One partner, start to finish
Part design, prototypes, mold design, trials, first article and production all run through our NPD pipeline.
What drives your injection mold cost
There is no single price for an injection mold. Cost depends on your part size, geometry, material, texture, tolerances, number of cavities and how many parts you need each year. That is why we quote from your 3D file instead of a guess.
We are passionate about itemizing and prioritizing the cost structure of manufactured parts. When you can see the numbers, you can help us optimize the design and get to a lower price per part.
- Engineering and part design: $110 per hour
- Rapid prototypes: $100-$500 per prototype, based on size and RP system
- Per-part pricing detailed to the penny for production runs
- Single cavity prototype tooling before full production tooling
- Mold flow analysis and tolerance stack analysis to avoid costly tool changes
- Moldability changes: wall thickness, gate sizing, vent sizing and location, sink and flash
- Material and texture selection matched to performance and budget
- Molding trial report and T1 sample review before texturing
- First article inspection: 30 points per cavity on critical dimensions, 5 on non-critical

How quoting works
Send your part details
Share your 3D file, drawing or concept, plus your material, volume and target price if you have one.
We review moldability
Our engineers look at wall thickness, gating, venting, tolerances and material to find cost savings before we quote.
You get an itemized quote
We walk you through tooling cost and per-part cost, and show which design changes lower the number.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an injection mold cost?
It depends on your part. Size, geometry, material, texture, tolerances, cavity count and annual volume all change the tooling price. Send us a 3D file or drawing and we will quote your mold and your per-part price together.
Why is the mold quoted separately from the parts?
The mold is a one-time tooling build, and parts are priced per piece after that. We are upfront on both so you can compare total cost at your volume. Our mold and part supply service details per-part pricing to the penny.
Can I get a cheaper mold?
Often, yes. We look at cavity count, cycle time, gating, venting and wall thickness to get you into a low cost production tool. Design changes made before steel is cut are the cheapest changes you will ever make.
What does design work cost if my file is not mold ready?
Engineering and part design is $110 per hour. We can start from your own 3D file or model from scratch, review it for moldability, redline the changes and finalize the print and part number.
Can I see a part before I pay for production tooling?
Yes. Rapid prototypes run $100 to $500 per prototype depending on size and process, and we also build single cavity prototype tooling in the Beta stage of our NPD pipeline.
Do you work with companies outside Minnesota?
Yes. We serve customers across the United States. Our engineering team is based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area.
