Why OEMs bring ABS parts to EVOK
One partner, start to finish
Part design, prototypes, mold design, tooling and high volume production all run through the same team. Fewer handoffs, fewer surprises.
Costs you can actually see
We are upfront with costs and itemize the price of a part, so you can help trim what drives it. That is how you get quality at an optimized price.
Problems caught before tooling
Mold flow analysis, tolerance stack analysis and rapid prototypes find issues while changes are still cheap, not after the steel is cut.
The right resin and texture
Material and texture selection is part of the work. If ABS fits your part, we mold it. If another resin fits better, we tell you why.
25+ years of molding know-how
Founder Paul Dathe holds four U.S. utility patents and a Six Sigma black belt, with 25+ years solving injection molding problems.
Built for demanding industries
We serve powersports, medical device, semiconductor, flat panel, consumer product and packaging companies across the United States.
What ABS injection molding with EVOK looks like
Start with your own 3D file, or we model the part from scratch. We review it for moldability and redline the changes that help: wall thickness, gate sizing, vent sizing and location, and edits that cut sink and flash. You see exactly why each change matters.
From there we pick material and texture, prototype the design, build the tool, run the molding trial and qualify the first article. Then we move into high volume production with a per-part price we keep as low as possible.
- Engineering and part design in SOLIDWORKS at $110 per hour
- Rapid prototypes for cosmetic or functional checks, $100-$500 each
- Material and texture selection guidance for your application
- Mold flow analysis and tolerance stack analysis
- Single cavity prototype tooling, then production tooling
- Molding trial report with T1 samples reviewed before texturing
- First article with 30 inspection points per cavity on critical dimensions and 5 on non-critical
- High volume production with cost-reduced per-part pricing

What happens after you send your part
We review your part
Send your 3D file, drawing or sketch. We look at the geometry, the job the part has to do and whether ABS or another resin fits.
We map the path
You get a clear plan: design changes for moldability, prototype options, tooling approach and the analysis your part needs.
You get itemized pricing
We break out engineering, prototype, tooling and per-part cost so you can see every line and help optimize it.
Frequently asked questions
Can you tell me if ABS is the right material for my part?
Yes. Material and texture selection is part of our service. We look at how the part has to perform, how it should look and what it should cost, then recommend a resin. If something other than ABS fits better, we say so.
How is the price set?
Engineering and part design is $110 per hour. Rapid prototypes run $100-$500 each depending on size and the prototype system. Tooling and per-part price depend on part size, cavitation, cycle time and volume, so we quote after we see the part. We itemize costs so you can see what drives them.
Do I need a finished design first?
No. You can start with your own 3D file, or we model the part from scratch. SOLIDWORKS is preferred. We review the file, mark up changes for moldability and finalize it with a print and part number.
Is there a minimum order?
Our production work is built around high volume molding and low per-part cost. Tell us your yearly volume and we will quote tooling and parts to match. For early testing, single cavity prototype tooling is an option.
Where do you work, and who is on the team?
We serve customers across the United States, with our engineering team based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area. The team of six covers engineering, industrial design and program support.
How do you prove the parts meet spec?
The molding trial report is a key step. T1 samples are evaluated before texturing and show about 90% of how the part will mold, with fill speed, knit lines, zone temperatures and cycle time monitored. First article adds 30 inspection points per cavity on critical dimensions and 5 on non-critical, plus Cp and Cpk data.
