What goes into a hospital palm vein access system
ePortPass pairs the Fujitsu PalmSecure F-Pro scanner with our door hardware and software. Near-infrared light maps 5 million points in the veins of the hand and checks for liveness, so a photo or a replica will not open your door. Enrollment takes about 15 seconds per hand and each verification is under 2 seconds.
Units attach to doors, turnstiles, gates and vehicle gates. The same palm can also log clinicians into EHR and data systems with our Data Access Management software and HotKeyID scanner mouse, so password sharing stops at the keyboard too.

How much does a hospital access control system cost?
Pricing is quoted per project because it depends on door count, readers, RFID or PIN options and installation. Tell us how many entry points you need and we will price it. Volume pricing is available for larger quantities.
Will it work with the access control we already have?
Yes. The system interfaces with existing access control using Wiegand or OSDP, and it can power electric strikes or mag-locks directly through the Door Control Unit.
Is palm vein hygienic enough for clinical areas?
It is contactless. Staff hold a hand above the reader, so there is no shared touch surface. Unlike fingerprint readers, it still works with dirty, wet, calloused or gloved hands.
Can staff keep their ID badges?
Yes. Existing RFID cards can be integrated into the ePortID system, or replaced entirely. You can also combine palm vein, card and PIN for two- or three-part authentication at high-risk doors.
Can the same system protect patient records and EHR logins?
