What the ePortID system includes
The system is built on the Fujitsu PalmSecure F-Pro scanner, a 29mm sensor rated for 1,000,000 hours of use. Enrollment takes about 15 seconds per hand. After that, verification runs in under 2 seconds at 99.99991% accuracy.
ePortID adds the hardware and software around the scanner: a ThinLabs Door Control Unit, RFID reader options, LED feedback lights and the software to enroll, monitor and report. You can run one, two or three-part authentication using palm vein, RFID card and PIN.

How much does a biometric identity verification system cost?
Pricing depends on how many readers, doors and users you need, so ePortID quotes each project. The one fixed-price item is the California BAR Bundle kit at $432.00 plus CA sales tax and shipping. Volume pricing is available for larger quantities.
Will it work with the access control we already have?
Yes. The system interfaces with existing access control through Wiegand or OSDP and can power electric strikes or mag-locks. It can also replace RFID cards or bring them into the ePortID system.
Is palm vein better than a fingerprint scanner?
Palm vein is contactless, so it still works with dirty, wet, calloused or gloved hands, and there is no shared touch surface. The vein pattern sits beneath the skin, so it cannot be photographed or copied like a face or fingerprint.
How hard is installation?
Units attach to doors, turnstiles, gates and vehicle gates. The Door Control Unit runs on Power over Ethernet, so one network cable carries power and data and no licensed electrician is required. ePortID offers installation, integration and technical support.
