Palm vein access control for data centers and server rooms
Your racks hold other people's data. Cards get shared, cloned and left at the desk, and a PIN can be read over a shoulder. Palm vein biometrics use the vein pattern under the skin, built from 5 million points that no one else shares, not even an identical twin. Near-infrared light also checks for liveness, so a photo or a replica will not open the door.
ePortID packages the Fujitsu PalmSecure F-Pro sensor with a ThinLabs Door Control Unit, optional RFID reader and LED feedback lights. The kit mounts on doors, turnstiles, gates and vehicle gates, and runs over one network cable.

How is data center access control priced?
Pricing is quote based. It depends on how many doors and entry points you cover, how many readers and Door Control Units you need, and whether you add RFID or PIN. Volume pricing is available for larger quantities.
Will it work with the access control we already have?
Yes. ePortPass interfaces with existing access control systems using Wiegand or OSDP, and can power electric strikes or mag-locks directly. Existing RFID cards can be replaced or pulled into the ePortID system.
Do we need an electrician to install it?
No. The ThinLabs Door Control Unit runs on Power over Ethernet, so power and data travel on one network cable up to 100 meters from the PoE source. That removes the need for a licensed electrician.
Can a photo or a copied badge fool the reader?
No. The vein pattern sits beneath the skin, and the scanner checks for liveness with near-infrared light during every scan. The pattern cannot be lost, shared, forgotten, duplicated or stolen.
How long does it take to enroll our staff?
Enrollment takes about 15 seconds per hand. Existing records can be loaded with an Excel or CSV file upload, and vendors or contractors can be enrolled with time-bound, location-specific permissions.
Do you install outside Pennsylvania?
ePortID is based in Philadelphia and serves customers across the United States. Tell us your site locations in the form and we will cover installation and support in your quote.
