What you need for 3D puff embroidery
3D puff is a technique, not a separate machine. You place puffy foam on the garment, stitch over it with a commercial multi-needle machine, then remove the excess foam. The stitches lift and your logo turns into raised 3D embroidery.

Yes. Xtreme Tech XTPro and Happy Japan commercial machines sold by Dr. DTG embroider 3D puffy foam designs, along with flat goods, caps and finished garments.
Do I need a cap frame to puff hats?
For caps and structured headwear you need a cap frame attachment. All XTPro and Happy Japan machines we sell support cap frames, and multi-head models can run several caps at once.
Do you supply the foam and needles too?
Yes. We stock 3D puffy foam sheets in multiple thicknesses and colors, Groz-Beckert 80/12 KK needles (100 per box) and Isacord 40wt thread in 390 colors. Ask about bundling supplies with your machine.
Do you ship outside California?
Yes. Machines ship nationwide by freight from Brea, California. Repair is on-site in Southern California and return-to-depot for the rest of the USA.
Can I trade in my current machine?
Yes. Trade-in valuation is free and with no obligation. We accept Happy, Xtreme Tech, Tajima, Brother, Barudan, Melco, SWF, ZSK, Janome and Toyota commercial machines.
