How is a data migration priced?
The migration readiness assessment is free. After that you get a fixed-fee wave plan, with execution quoted fixed-fee or time and materials. We pursue AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) funding on all qualifying deals, which can reduce your out-of-pocket cost.
Do you migrate data to clouds other than AWS?
No. Cloudtech is AWS-only. We move data from on-prem, colo, VMware and other clouds into AWS, but we do not consult on Azure or Google Cloud.
How do you keep downtime low?
We start with discovery using AWS Application Discovery Service, then sequence the work into waves so dependent apps and datasets move together. Cutover is followed by hypercare. Your assessment sets out the plan for each wave.
How long will our migration take?
It depends on how many apps and how much data you have, which the free assessment clarifies. Our pre-packaged solutions are delivered in weeks. Klamath Health Partnership said we migrated their data to an AWS data lake in two months, including training.
Can you move databases and data warehouses, not just files?
Yes. We use AWS DMS for database replication, Glue, EMR, Kinesis and dbt for pipelines, and migrate warehouses to Redshift, Snowflake-on-AWS or Athena with QuickSight for reporting.
