Why buyers use Alori for Portugal
Curated, not a listing feed
We hand-pick properties that fit your brief instead of sending you endless public ads. Access is selective and investor focused.
Local people on the ground
In-market professionals know the rules, the paperwork and the cultural detail of buying in Portugal, so nothing gets lost in translation.
Legal checks coordinated
We coordinate due diligence, conveyancing and developer vetting with vetted local partners. You keep your own independent legal and tax advisers.
Clear, data-led analysis
We look at macro trends, demographics, capital flows and rules in each market, then share comparable pricing so you can judge a deal yourself.
Two markets, studied deeply
We only cover Portugal and the country of Georgia. Fewer markets means we can answer real questions about each one.
Support after you buy
We can refer property management and rental support once the title is in your name.
Buying in the Azores and across Portugal
Alori is not a public property portal. We source Portuguese property for buyers who live abroad, mostly in the United States. You tell us the island, the type of home and your budget. We come back with options we have checked, plus the pricing and legal detail behind them.
The Azores sit inside our wider Portugal coverage, which also runs across Lisbon, Porto, Cascais, the Algarve, Faro, the Silver Coast, the Douro, Alentejo and Madeira. If the right home in the Azores is not available right now, we will tell you and show comparable options elsewhere in Portugal.
- Vineyard and wine estates in the Douro Valley, Alentejo, Madeira and the Azores
- Farmhouses and country estates, 3-8 bedrooms, 200-600 sqm on 1-20+ hectares of land
- Luxury villas with private pool in the Algarve Golden Triangle, Cascais and the Silver Coast
- Heritage townhouses in Porto Ribeira, Cascais old town and Lisbon's Alfama and Chiado
- Luxury apartments and penthouses in Porto, Cascais, Faro and the Lisbon metro area
- Off-plan units in select new-build projects with developer payment plans up to 48 months
- Payment routes include cash, home equity (HELOC), developer plans or local lenders - Alori does not lend
- Portuguese title registered with the Conservatoria do Registo Predial

Frequently asked questions
Do you have homes listed in the Azores?
We are not a listing portal, so we do not publish open inventory. The Azores are part of our Portugal coverage, mainly through vineyard and rural estate sourcing. Tell us the island and property type and we will confirm what we can source, or show comparable options elsewhere in Portugal.
What do properties cost?
Pricing is given on request for each property. Most purchases we handle fall between $100,000 and $600,000, with higher-end trophy assets available on request.
Can Americans buy property in Portugal?
Yes. Foreign ownership is unrestricted in Portugal and no residency or citizenship is required. Property is registered with the Conservatoria do Registo Predial for full legal title.
Does buying a home give me a Golden Visa?
Portugal's Golden Visa is no longer available through a direct real estate purchase. A qualifying investment fund route exists (EUR 500,000). We can explain how that route is structured, and you should take your own legal advice on eligibility.
How can I pay for the purchase?
Buyers commonly use cash, home equity (HELOC), developer payment plans on select new-build projects, or local financing. Alori does not lend or arrange mortgages.
Do you handle the legal work and taxes?
We coordinate legal due diligence, conveyancing and developer vetting with vetted local partners. We do not give independent legal or tax advice, so you will need your own advisers. In Portugal, IMI property tax is typically 0.3-0.45% of cadastral value.
